So far a major share of Rajiv aarogyasri benefits went to the corporate hospitals especially in urban areas with only a meagre share of 9% of its revenues allocated to government hospitals in Andhra state.
Recently the minister for health education of Andhra state, Mr Sudarshan Reddy have announced a substantial increase upto 30% in the share of revenues allotted to Government hospitals through Aarogyasri scheme.
This will certainly lead to improved delivery of basic health care services in Governement hospitals.
The enhanced services will mean that patients can now be able to avail the renal replacement therapy services through newly established dialysis facilities at varoius Governemnt hospitals throughout the state.
The corporate hospitals will still benefit through the state government scheme as most of the adavanced specialty health care services are still being delivered through these hospitals.
