Mr Sharad Pawar, the union Minister for agriculture in India has been elected as the president of Internationla Cricket Council.

It is another milestone for Indian cricket as Mr Pawar had close association with Indian cricket for the past 5 years and did play a direct role in the promotion of Indian Premier League and its success story.

Mr Pawar is a senior figure in Indian politics for the last 15 years.He is much respected across all the political parties in India.

His new role in the International cricket will give him a chance to promote the much loved game of  cricket for Indians to a greater level and bring the game much more international participation and recognition.
